MANA ĀTAAHUA COSMETICS are a luxurious Māori skin care range handcrafted by me gardenia. With many meanings MANA represents prestige, authority, control, power, influence, status, spiritual power, charisma Ātaahua-beauty I wanted to make people feel special so I named my skin care exactly this. While I was going through the local authorities to obtain consent to occupy my ancestral whenua, I came up with the name mana ataahua for the name of my cosmetic business.
Being a wahine in my 30s skin aging is a concern. Uv damage, toxins and life’s stresses can have an impact on our skin leaving it less radiant and healthy. Having a background in beauty as a qualified beauty therapist i worked in beauty and wellness establishments only using organic self made products. Inspired to create my own skin care products and passionate about kawakawa rongoa which is a traditional Māori medicine in 2003 I was unable to work due to health i began mixing skin care. I infused kawakawa cold pressed in natural oils into my skin care adding anti aging ingredients that our own bodies naturally produce. Kawakawa is known for its healing properties and treats skin conditions. Creating skin products containing the benefits that minimises the signs of aging, heals and hydrates making the skin radiant, hydrated and feeling beautiful. Providing a sense of confidence to shine naturally. We now have perfumes available inspired by famous collections all made to make you smell and feel in love like a queen.
My skin care is suitable for all ages and all skin types. All my skin care is made in Waituhi a small country town out of Gisborne, New Zealand. My products are natural, are safe to use and can be used daily for all skin types. My products are 🥑 vegan friendly, 🐰Animal cruelty free and the containers are ♻️ recyclable safe on the environment.
